With the exhibition “Ten artists praise the sea” the Piraeus gallery participates for the eighth year in the events of the municipality of Piraeus for the “Days of the Sea” in a journey to optimism and light.

The “big port” of Piraeus is famous for having millions of stories to tell. Stories that shape his legend.

Destination and starting point for the biggest and most exciting trips of our life, it has a trademark of its much-sung sea.

This inexhaustible sea, which with its beauty and magic became a source of inspiration for Melina, Manos Hadjidakis, George Mitsakis and many other creators, is praised by the ten renowned artists who take part in the exhibition.

Travel, hope, escape, anticipation, farewell, dreams. As a symbol of all this we find the ship in the works of Giannis Adamakis, Sotiris Sorogas, and Rafael Baika.

The inseparable relationship of the sea with the woman, which Kavvadias praised so vividly in his poems, is presented in the work of Demosthenes Kokkinidis.

Giannis Psychopedis, Manolis Haros, Rafael Baikas, Penny Manavi capture in their works the harmonious coexistence of the sea with the beauty of the landscape.

With unique mastery, Chryssa Vergi in the work entitled “Aegean” explores the unrelenting soul of the sea, which enjoys its eternal play with the light of the sun.

In a work with a metaphysical aura, which magnetizes the eye and touches the soul, Christos Pallantzas with a weapon of his personal special color range praises in a cinematic way the magic of the Piraeus sky at sunset. Title of the project “Piraeus”.

The exhibition is curated by Sofia Kapsioti, owner of the gallery. It will be inaugurated on 27/5 at 18.30 pm. by the mayor of Piraeus Giannis Moralis and will last until 20/6.
