Marcos Mion has Covid: ‘It’s my turn’

by

Presenter Marcos Mion announced this Tuesday (24) on social media that he has Covid. He said he is fine and with mild symptoms of the disease, but canceled all recordings of Caldeirão (Globo) and will not present the 50th anniversary show of singer Ivete Sangalo, on Friday (27).

“Yeah, guys, it’s my turn, I tested positive for Covid. I thought deep in my soul that I would get through this pandemic unscathed, because I’ve done so much since A Fazenda [Record] that was at the height of the pandemic, a daily reality, all Globo programs, travel”, said the presenter.

He admitted that with the experience of recording the daily reality on Record, he became obsessed with wearing a mask and taking an alcohol sprayer wherever he goes because at the time of the program there was still no vaccine. “Anyone who knows me won’t believe that I took [Covid], no one would bet. I thought I was going to win a medal from [doutor em Microbiologia] Attila Iamarino.”

Mion said that it is impossible to know how he got Covid and revealed that he discovered he had the disease in routine tests done at Globo. He regretted the cancellation of the recordings of programs with Juliette, É o Tchan, Rio Negro and Solimões and Mumuzinho, in addition to the presentation of the broadcast of the 50th anniversary special of singer Ivete Sangalo.

“It’s a shame, I was receiving so much affection from the people of Juazeiro. Wow, Ivete’s birthday is such a special thing. I was being put on the station as the guy for the festivals, the shows. It’s going to be a shame not to be able to go. We’ll soon find out who’s going to take my place to run this party,” said Mion.

The presenter warned followers that there are many people catching Covid again and that care must be taken. He said he has several friends infected with the virus and hospitals are receiving many cases, but that is not to be alarmed. “It shows that there are a lot of people who haven’t been vaccinated, it’s a huge mistake,” he said. He added: “What gives me peace and tranquility is the 3 shots in my arm.”
