To add veracity to a scene from the new Netflix movie “Don’t Look Up,” which hits the platform in December, actress Jennifer Lawrence, 31, confided that she used marijuana with permission from director Adam McKay.

In the scene, the character herself is stoned and has a chat with Meryl Streep’s character. For that, she wanted to get really high.

“Everyone was messing with me [durante a cena], I think because I was high. It was easy to get angry,” added the actress in an interview echoed by El País.

Lawrence said in September that he is expecting his first child. However, in the same interview, she made a point of saying that at the time she was not pregnant.

Netflix released the first teaser for the movie “No Look Up”. The project is set to debut in theaters on December 9th and will hit streaming on December 24th. The film features big names in the cast like Leonardo DiCaprio, Jennifer Lawrence, Timothée Chalamet, Meryl Streep and Ariana Grande.

The feature film is directed, scripted and produced by Oscar winner Adam McKay, who has directed films such as “The Great Proposal” (2015) and “Almost Brothers” (2008). The plot follows astronomy student Kate Dibiasky (Jennifer Lawrence) and her teacher, Dr. Randall Mindy (Leonardo DiCaprio).

The two discover that a comet is about to collide with Earth, but no one seems to care. So, they accept the mission to alert humanity to the impact of the rock and enlist the help of Dr. Oglethorpe (Rob Morgan) to enter the office of President Orlean (Meryl Streep) and her son Jason (Jonah Hill).

In the film, it was disclosed that the actress received less money than the other protagonist, actor Leonardo DiCaprio. According to Variety, she received around R$ 140 million for the project, while her colleague would have earned R$ 168 million.

“I’m sure other women in your workplace have also found it extremely uncomfortable to ask for equal pay. And if you question something that looks unequal, they say it’s not gender disparity, but they can’t tell you exactly what it is.” , she commented when saying that she was the first star to be invited to the feature.

In February, the actress was injured after an accident on the set of the film, which is being shot in Boston, USA. An explosion that was part of the scene went wrong and the actress was hit in the face by a shard of glass.

According to the TMZ website, the fragment hit Jennifer’s eyelid, which bled heavily. The recordings, which also featured Timothée Chalamet, had to be cancelled.
