In her closing argument, Elaine Bredehoft, a lawyer for the actress, said the lawsuit filed by Depp and a campaign of “global humiliation” has made Heard’s life “sheer hell”. “It destroyed her life. It consumed her. She is receiving death threats,” the lawyer told the seven-person jury.

Benjamin Chew, part of Depp’s legal team, responded that while the “Pirates of the Caribbean” actor is not a “saint” and has had drug and alcohol problems, “he is not a violent abuser.” “He doesn’t deserve to have his life and legacy destroyed by a cruel lie,” he said. “We ask, we beg you to return your name, your reputation and your career,” he concluded.
