The little heart with the hands came back. A symbolic image of her inaugural speech in the government of Jair Bolsonaro, in March 2020, Regina Duarte once again made use of gestures – now to start a publication in her Stories in which she sings “Gostoso Demais”, by Dominguinhos and Nando Cordel.
After a kittens and birds phase, milk pudding recipes and a period of racist and denialist posts in which she reinforced her stance against social isolation and protested against the Black Awareness Day, Regina “deemed with life” seems to be stronger than ever.
With colored ribbons in her hair and a simulacrum of a northeastern accent, the actress and former Secretary of Culture showed her singing side in the video in an interpretation that became a joke on the web. “I don’t even feel sorry,” wrote presenter Astrid Fontenelle in the reproduction of the video, posted by the Baby Healer page in Brazil. “Damarizou for good”, commented another follower.
The comments, many of them from artists and former colleagues in the profession, are along the lines of how far she has come. “She’s aging badly”, the page stuck in its caption, not without first using a hashtag #clownsfart to remember the “clown fart”, another unforgettable passage from Regina’s speech, who broke a 50-year contract with Globo to be part of the Bolsonaro administration.
