MC Loma says she suffers more attacks after pregnancy and wants to avoid exposing her daughter

Criticism was never lacking in the life of singer MC Loma. When she shot to fame with the modest and amusing video for “Involvement” four years ago, the attacks and doubts about her talent were already there. And those comments never stopped.

At the time, she was 15 years old and owned the 2018 Carnival hit. Since then, Loma has left Pernambuco for São Paulo, reached the age of majority, starred in controversies and released new songs, even though she did not repeat the success of “Envolvimento”.

“In the beginning it was very difficult to read and listen to certain things, but today I decided not to care, not to get too attached”, says she, who has danced on stage with Anitta, but has also heard many attacks that she is not an artist. “We’ve been through it, and we’ve been through it until today.”

“They say that we don’t sing, that our music is not music. Comments that even come from other artists, saying that we would be nothing more than ‘Involvement’, that we would flop, that they would forget about us”, he recalls in a conversation with the F5 on a cold May night.

But Loma was not forgotten. She even took a break from music because of the pandemic, but she remains active on social media, today her main income. She lives with a legion of fans and haters, and is going through the biggest change of her life: motherhood.

“I got scared [com a novidade]. Think: ‘my god, what now?’. It was a shock, I’m very young, I still have a lot to conquer, but after a few months I managed to assimilate everything. Now it’s just happiness and anxiety to see my baby’s face.”

Melanie is due to arrive on September 15, a Virgo, warns Loma, even though she confesses that she doesn’t understand much about signs. “I hope she is organized, because I’m not at all, I’m lazy”, says the singer bursting with laughter.

Despite the mother’s scare, the baby was a source of joy for the whole family. Loma says her parents celebrated the news and her siblings — she has two half-siblings, a 29-year-old sister and a 24-year-old brother — went out to buy their first clothes.

The support network is completed by the twins Mirella and Mariely Santos, 22, his partners in music, since the time of “Envolvimento”, and their family in São Paulo, since parents and brothers remain in Pernambuco.

Today, the three of them no longer live together, as they did for the last few years, but they are all in the same condominium, in São Bernardo do Campo (Grande SP). Loma preferred to have an apartment of her own, where she will live with Melanie — and her mother for the first few months.

But what about the baby’s father? Loma has already stated on her social networks, when announcing the pregnancy, that she was not dating, she got pregnant with a hookup and that she does not intend to disclose her name. “I don’t think he’s going to be as much of a part of her life,” she says, without much detail.

“Right now, he’s even participating, but I think it won’t be an everyday thing, because we don’t live in the same city. But he will, yes, be with me whenever she needs it”, completes the singer, admitting she doesn’t like it. of the subject.

The perrengues of raising a daughter alone, however, do not bother her. “It’s a very big responsibility, but I don’t think I’m so alone, I have a very big support network, the word alone doesn’t even cross my mind”, she guarantees.

Once again, it is the haters and attacks she receives on the web that demotivate Loma during her pregnancy. Even motherhood became ammunition for this type of comment. “I think they even got a little worse after I got pregnant, that I announced that I’m pregnant.”

“I’ve received a lot more haters. And I’m sadder because many are from women. They say I’m sloppy, that the pregnancy happened because of me and they attack me for not wanting to show the child’s father. It’s a struggle this world of Internet.”

With that, Loma has rethought the idea of ​​showing her daughter in her hammocks. According to her, the idea is to wait a while, preserve both Melanie and herself. “I don’t want my baby to absorb this negative energy, I want to protect her,” she says.

But music, little Melanie must accompany from an early age. Loma will continue to take a break from her music career for now, but as soon as she wants to release new things and go on tour, she can take her daughter to a few shows closer.

The singer, who as a child dreamed of being a police officer, already has songs ready, “some cheesy-funks with artists from Recife”, she says. “It’s all ready, just waiting for me to recover so we can continue. Me with the twins. We’ll always be together, all the time.”
