Deborah Secco recalls dating a famous woman: ‘I never had prejudice’

by

Deborah Secco, 42, has opened up about her relationship with another famous woman in the past. The actress, who preferred not to name names, revealed that this was not the only relationship she had with someone of the same sex.

“This relationship, which for me was a relationship, I don’t know for the other person, was the only one I had with a woman, but not the only involvement”, he told columnist Patricia Kogut, from O Globo. “With the others I didn’t create a story, I didn’t date. I just had dates.”

“I think people are different, regardless of gender,” he said. “I’ve been with men much more like women than many other men. What matters is the experiences, the personalities…”

The actress, who will soon be seen in “Rensga Hits” (Globoplay), recalled that she was always open-minded, but still had a little apprehension before being with a woman for the first time. “If I say that I didn’t break any barriers inside me, it’s a lie,” she said.

“You hear all your life that you have to marry a man,” he said. “It’s driven to that. But it was easy to break, because there’s no right or wrong to like it, to fall in love. If it did me good and it didn’t hurt anyone, it makes sense to me.”

“But society creates a mini-bar in you,” he said. “I thought: ‘My God, what now?’. But it took three seconds. I’m free, well-resolved and I’ve never had prejudice. When it happened to me, I had the first few seconds understanding, going against what was taught. I thought: ‘Wow, How ridiculous, I’ll laugh about it and move on’.”

Currently married to Hugo Moura, she also explained why she doesn’t give more details about the “cases”. “I prefer to avoid talking about dates so as not to exhibit,” she said. “The first person I hooked up with might not have been known, but people close to me might know.”
