New “battlefield” after the custody of their children, their joint business activity.
In… “knives” Brad Pitt continues to be with Angelina Jolie, the once glamorous couple in Hollywood. New “battlefield” after the custody of their children, their joint business activity.
According to legal documents of Pete presented by the BBC, Angelina Jolie “sought to hurt him” when she sold her share in the joint ownership of their vineyard to a Russian oligarch.
Pete is suing his ex-wife because it sold its stake in the French vineyard they bought together in 2008.
The Hollywood star said that the decision of the also famous actress to sell her share to a Russian oligarch forced him to work with “a stranger with poisonous connections and intentions”.
Jolie has not yet commented on the matter.
The couple bought a majority stake in 2008 Chateau Miraval SA, a French company that includes a house and a vineyard in the south of France. The couple got married in the idyllic landscape six years later.
Pete says he and his ex-wife agreed not to sell their shares in the vineyard without the other person’s permission. However, in legal documents revealed by the PA news agency, Jolie allegedly sold her stake in a Luxembourg-based spirits company controlled by Russian oligarch Yuri Shefler, without Pete’s knowledge.
“It did not contribute to anything”
Brad Pitt’s lawsuit alleges that the sale helped launch a “hostile” takeover of the wine business that the actor had “carefully built”.
Pete’s lawyers said that under his management, the operation had become a “multi-million dollar international success story” even though Jolie “had not contributed anything”.
“Through the reported sale, Jolie tried to hurt Pete “, according to the documents, which were filed last week.
“Jolie knew and intended that Scheffler and his affiliates were trying to take control of Pete’s business and undermine Pete’s investment in Miraval.”
The Miraval estate is located in the village of Correns in southeastern France and was bought by the couple for about 25 million euros.
Pete is said to have paid 60% of the purchase price, with Jolie paying the remaining 40%.
The lawyers also said that the winery on the estate continues to be doing well and “although it benefited from Miraval’s success, Jolie had no involvement in those efforts”.
The actress submitted divorce application in 2016.
Jolie reportedly informed Pete of her decision to sell to Scheffler in January 2021, saying she had made a “painful decision, with a heavy heart”.
Pete’s lawyers have called for a jury trial.
