São Paulo vaccinates 20,000 people with 4th dose against Covid in 1 day

On the first day of application of the fourth (or second additional) dose of the vaccine against Covid-19 for people over 50 and health professionals from 18 in the capital of São Paulo, 20,961 people received the immunizer.

According to the Municipal Health Department, in the age group from 50 to 59 years old, 14,978 people were vaccinated until 7 pm this Monday (6), equivalent to 1.58% of the eligible public, which is 942,894.

In the group of health workers over 18 years of age, there were 5,983 vaccinated on the first day —1.21% of those eligible (491,596).

In addition to belonging to the aforementioned groups, to receive the fourth dose against it, you must have taken the previous dose for at least four months.

Immunosuppressed patients need to present proof of a risk condition, such as prescriptions, physical or digital reports, cell phone photography, and other forms as long as the patient’s identification, CRM with the doctor’s stamp and in validity.

The influenza virus vaccine is also available to people over 50 years of age.

“This new stage of vaccination reinforces the actions of the portfolio with a focus on preserving the stability of the epidemiological scenario especially with the arrival of winter, when an increase in respiratory diseases is expected, including Covid-19”, said the municipal secretary of the Ministry of Health. Health, Luiz Carlos Zamarco.

Vaccination takes place in Basic Health Units and Outpatient Medical Assistance (AMAs)/Integrated UBSs, from 7 am to 7 pm. The megaposts and drive-thrus are open from 8 am to 5 pm.

The Ministry of Health had released the second additional dose of the Covid-19 vaccine for people aged 50 and over and health workers over 18 on Saturday (4).

Municipalities can use Pfizer, Janssen, or AstraZeneca immunizers, regardless of which vaccines the person has had before.
