Johnny Depp’s lawyer promoted to partner in the firm after trial

Camille Vasquez, a lawyer for Johnny Depp, 58, was promoted to partner at Brown Rudnick after winning the actor’s defamation trial against his ex-wife, actress Amber Heard, 36, last week. The trial was broadcast on television.

Camille was in the spotlight for her cross-examinations and closing arguments during the six-week trial in a courtroom in Virginia. “We are delighted to welcome Camille into the partnership,” said William Baldiga, President and CEO of Brown Rudnick.

In the statement, Baldiga said he often reserves ads like this for the end of the fiscal year, but Camille’s performance during the actor’s trial proved to the world that she was ready to take the next step. “We are incredibly proud of her and look forward to what she will accomplish as our newest partner.”

During the trial, Camille was seen laughing, hugging Depp and proved to be an enemy of Heard and his team of lawyers. Even at the trial appearing to mock Heard’s allegation of domestic and sexual abuse, the lawyer’s poise and precision proved to be powerful in and out of court.

“I am delighted that Brown Rudnick has given me his full vote of confidence in joining the partnership,” Camille said after the promotion.
