The Bauhaus may have returned to our country after 40 years, but, unfortunately, for the audience that was in Nero Square to enjoy them, they were probably disappointed.
Unfortunately, it did the worst premiere Release Athens 2022as in his first day, the Peter Murphy, after many remarks to the sound engineer, he left the stage furiously long before the playlist was completed, due to the bad sound.
After a while, the Bauhaus returned, but for encore and not to continue the normal flow of the playlist. So shortly after midnight and while David Bowie was singing Ziggy Stardust, Peter Murphy, threw down the microphone and left the stage, shouting at the sound engineer “This is your fault” (this is your fault).
It was preceded by the appearance of Deus and Jesus And The Mary Chain, with also a bad sound, as many users on social media point out.
Naturally, after many reactions, the sound engineer of the band, Chris Rolleyin a text uploaded to facebook it’s mentioned that “the problems they had during the show, based on his experience, they could not have expected».
His post in detail:
“These problems we had during the show, based on my experience, we could not have expected. Every wireless channel that was offered to us started to cause problems from the start of the set. The wireless guitar system first encountered a problem. We made it easy, we changed the cable. Four wireless systems in the first five songs.
I have not had such problems all these years. They all worked, but they did not give a good signal. Most of them probably could not understand that we had these problems because I covered most of them in the FOH mix. But all the wireless In Ear monitors collapsed and created problems in the band that could not hear themselves on stage.
We checked the systems many times during the two days we were there. Something very strange happened to the wireless network. I would like to know what happened, but I think it has happened again in Athens? Any local problem due to interference?
It could also be a power problem, but I was not able to control them during the show. Maybe the previous bands left the transmitters open? This would be a problem, but it would not be the main cause.
I will try to study it in the coming days and I may have more answers as to why this happened. “But at the moment I can say with certainty that it was a catastrophic failure on the wireless network that made it impossible to fix because of the complexity of the problems.”
