Daniela Mercury sues Eduardo Bolsonaro for fake news

by

Last Wednesday (15), Daniela Mercury, 56, filed a criminal case against federal deputy Eduardo Bolsonaro (PL). The singer accuses the son of President Jair Bolsonaro of defamation after having a video posted on social media in April, where a voice attributed to the singer claimed that Jesus Christ was gay.

At the time, the singer pointed out that the publication had been a montage of her lines during a show, in which she referred to the singer Renato Russo as “ay, gay, very gay, very fag, very fag, yes!”. In his publication, Eduardo Bolsonaro, 37, said that the speech was referring to Jesus and stated that “Daniela’s insults were side effects of abstinence from the Rouanet Law.” He even put in the caption of the publication that “Brazil does not deserve this”.

The federal deputy deleted the post after the negative repercussion and, at the time, the singer recalled that “fake news is a crime” and that, to the criminal, he wanted “the law”. According to columnist Ancelmo Gois, in the petition signed by Daniela’s defense, listed all the attacks suffered by the singer after Eduardo’s post. The case is in the 20th Criminal Court of the São Paulo Court of Justice.
