“I would like to try to find someone in the audience,” said the English singer-songwriter. “Well, we will be very quiet and see if I can locate this person, if you do not mind helping me.”

Harry Styles paid tribute to his first teacher at a concert in Manchester.

Scenes recorded by fans show Harry Styles asking the crowd to help him locate his teacher who he had heard would be in the audience at the concert.

“I would like to try to find someone in the audience” said the English singer, songwriter.

“Well, we will be very quiet and see if I can locate this person, if you do not mind helping me.”

“My first teacher at school is here tonight” he continued. “Her name is Mrs. Vernon and I think she is in the crowd. We will try to find her. If Mrs. Vernon is here. Are you here? ” stressed.

Harry Styles finally spotted his former teacher and shouted, “Mrs. Vernon!” before falling to his knees smiling. “How are you? I heard you were retiring. I would just like to thank you for all these years that have shaped me. Thank you very much. It means a lot to me that you are here tonight.”

The former One Direction member then thanked all of his “truly wonderful” teachers at Hermitage Elementary School in Holmes Chapel, Cheshire, before dedicating a song to all of his teachers and thanking them “from the bottom of his heart.”

Speaking to BBC Radio Manchester, Anne Vernon said: “As a teacher you remember all the children you taught, everything is amazing in their own way. “Harry has obviously done great, great things – everyone at the Hermitage is so, so proud of him.”

He also said it was a “pleasure” to teach Harry Styles, adding: “He had a cheeky gleam in his eye, he was a twitter sometimes, but he was a character we certainly all remember.”

“… It is very moving, it moved me very, very much, that he talked about all the teachers. “What he has done and the fact that he sent me this message last night, as I retire, means so much,” he added.
