Aegina – Nafplio – Athens: Three historic cities of Greece celebrate together the 200th anniversary of the Greek Revolution. Dimitra Galani and Michalis Hatzigiannis from Aegina, Alkistis Protopsalti from Nafplio and Eleftheria Arvanitaki from the Technopolis of the Municipality of Athens, in a unique musical relay race that took place last summer and will be broadcast from SKAI TV, on Saturday, November 27 at 00.30.
Celebrating 200 years since the Greek Revolution of 1821, in a landmark year for the country, the three cities that starred in the signing of the founding act of the new Greek state, join forces and send us a great message: to listen to what has to do with us narrate the past and look to our national future with optimism. Aegina, Nafplio and Athens take the baton of history and, with this vision to be the beginning of a permanent forum of cooperation between the three cities, they jointly organize a musical relay race.
First station, Aegina and the port of the island, in front of the church of Ag. Nikolaou of Thalassinos. Two sensual voices that fit perfectly and have collaborated on stage and on the record. At the concert in Aegina, the two artists presented the most beautiful songs from their long journey, their own and songs of other important composers as well as some unexpected duets that moved them.
Alkistis Protopsalti from the port of Nafplio honors our classical poets – set to music by great composers – but also contemporary lyricists and creates a colorful musical table with colors from the past and the present, with a connecting link in her wonderful voice. A different artistic approach, a unique music – interpretive feast, accompanied by excellent musicians and orchestrations Thomas Kontogeorgi.
Another great singer completes the musical relay race in Athens and in the Technopolis of the Municipality of Athens. And this is none other than Eleftheria Arvanitaki, who knows well how to wake us up and travel us through the magic of the great songs he has sung.
