Tiffany’s pop-up boutique in Paris, the sapphire-colored rotunda

by

The boutique unfolds as a sequence of rooms, each with a different atmosphere.

A pop-up boutique in the heart of its 8th arrondissement City of Light opened by Tiffany house. Designed by architecture firm OMA and located on Avenue Montaigne, the temporary boutique is not only a store but also an exhibition of items from the house’s archive, bringing together the house’s latest jewels and selections from its 185-year-old collection.

“Tiffany & Co. has a rich history in both jewelry creation and product design” explained the architect from OMA, Ellen van Loon, who led the design of the pop-up boutique in collaboration with Project Architect Giulio Margheri. “More than being an opportunity to discover the latest Tiffany collection, visiting the store also becomes a journey through time” he added.

The boutique unfolds as one sequence of rooms each with a different climate. First, a sapphire blue rotunda showcasing selections from Tiffany’s archive, either in physical form or on digital screens. Next is an octagonal room, with the house’s current collection; the space is decorated with gold walls, red-pink seats and blue touches. Finally, a room in the background is for appointments with the goal of buying high art and value jewelry and browsing Tiffany’s French Crown Jewels catalog from 1887

The interior design by OMA includes a continuous carpet, bespoke furniture and vintage lamps designed by Tiffany; the latter recalling the early 1900s designs by Louis Comfort Tiffany.

The temporary boutique will welcome visitors until May 2023.
