Wesley Safadão undergoes surgery to remove herniated disc

Wesley Safadão, 33, underwent a surgical procedure to remove a herniated disc. The announcement was made by the singer’s team on their networks this Thursday (7). According to the statement, the singer is well and in need of some normal care such as rest for the recovery from the surgery.

“After carrying out new exams and medical evaluation led by the team of Dr. Francisco Sampaio Júnior and Prof. Dr. Roberto Kalil Filho, we inform that this morning the singer Wesley Safadão underwent a surgical intervention on the invertebral disc to remove a hernia The surgery was successful. The singer is doing well and is now in his room recovering”, reads the note.

The forrozeiro had its show schedule interrupted and the presentations until July 10, at first, were cancelled. “We appreciate everyone’s love and prayers. Soon we will resume the schedule of shows normally”, completes the singer’s advice in the publication without specifying a date for Wesley Safadão’s return to the stage.

The singer was initially removed from the stage on June 29 due to back pain and leg numbness during a concert. Wesley Safadão was soon diagnosed with a herniated disc. Subsequently, he was admitted to a hospital in the capital of São Paulo, but was discharged on July 1st. The forrozeiro returned to the hospital on Thursday (7) for surgery.
