Stênio Garcia, 90, shared several videos on Instagram stories in the early hours of Thursday (14). He came out in defense of his wife Marilene Saade, 54, from criticism after a video of her abruptly interrupting an interview. The confusion happened during the launch of a book by actress Beth Goulart, on Tuesday night (12), in a mall in the South Zone of Rio.
“Guys, please, Marilene has always taken care of me, I’m alive here with health thanks to her. I wanted you to stop this because it’s separating me from her. She is the person who protects me, the person who protects me”, the actor begins. Stênio Garcia gets nervous during the recording.
“I am angry with you. You have no right to mistreat Marilene as you are mistreating her. She treats me very well. You are destroying a love relationship and that is what you are doing. You are being cruel to Marilene and me too. She treats me very well. You are unfair when you speak ill of her”, he explains.
A little earlier, Marilene published a video revealing why she had withdrawn her husband from the interview with journalist Marcos Bulques. She, who is also an actress, said that she interrupted the report for health reasons, since Stênio was without a protective mask against Covid-19. According to Marilene, the actor was going against medical advice.
“I’m monitoring his blood pressure 24 hours a day. We don’t have anyone to help, it’s just me doing it. I’m not complaining, because when I was in a coma, he took care of me. (…) Yesterday, how we liked Nicette so much [Bruno, mãe de Beth Goulart, que morreu no final de 2020], I told the doctors that he really wanted to go and they gave him the task: ‘Don’t let him take off his mask for even a fraction of a second’. And I swore to three doctors”, recalls Marilene.
Visibly irritated by the negative repercussion of her attitude, she assumed that she had an “explosive reaction” and justified: “Why did I have that explosion? Because the doctors asked me to. Because if he catches Covid-19, if he catches the flu whatever, he can die because we don’t know what he has”, she concludes.
