After the fight with Anitta, 29, the teen singer Melody, 15, had a not very pleasant surprise. The composer of the song “Positions”, by Ariana Grande, discovered the song “Assalto Perigoso”, an unauthorized version of the international hit made by the Brazilian.
Composer Nija Charles –who has even written lyrics for names like Lady Gaga and Beyoncé– learned about the version through tweets from Anitta’s fans. The “anitters” began mentioning Republic Records to make Ariana’s team aware of the version created by Melody.
“Hi Republic Records, this song is a plagiarism of ‘Positions’ and is profiting from it, the streams already add up to 40 million without giving the artist due credit,” wrote a fan of the singer. “Hold on,” replied Charles, with an emoji that has a look of doubt on his face.
However, after the songwriter’s tweet, the clip is no longer available on Melody’s official YouTube profile. The name of the singer came to be among the most talked about topics on Twitter, on the morning of this Monday (18).
The fight with Anitta happened this Sunday (17), after the artist cites Melody in response to a follower who criticized her position as ‘anti-PT’. “It’s called talk good or bad talk, but talk about me. Don’t see Melody, you just talk bad about her, nothing she does is really serious and professional…”.
Melody countered the singer on her social media, saying that “Girl From Rio” does not take her “name out of her mouth”. “Woman, instead of standing there saying that my work is not professional, take my music as an example. Make a better song than mine and hit Top 1 just like me”.
Shortly thereafter, Anitta returned to Twitter and countered Melody’s comment using as a reference the song ‘Assalto Perigoso’, a song that was successful in the blonde’s voice and is a version of the hit ‘Positions’ by American singer Ariana Grande.
“I know the composers of the song you hit Top 1, sis. I don’t think you know them, because the song is by Ariana Grande in this case, right. But don’t worry I wouldn’t show it to them if not… now does a falsetto singing Lula’s name just for the sake of toys for us and then you become news”
