In recovery from bladder surgery, actor Marcos Oliveira, 69, the Beiçola of A Grande Família (Globo), was released this Tuesday (19) and now needs to take care of his health at home. But the time he will need to stay soaking (35 days) is precisely what increases his anxiety about being well to work, as his financial situation has been a problem that makes him ask for money on social media.

“It’s kind of bad. I have to pay rent, food and it’s all based on the aid, asking for help from people. Any contribution helps me to maintain my life. Just for food and pharmacy I pay a lot of money”, he vents. He says that none of his former co-stars reached out to him. “We don’t even say hello anymore, there’s no more friendship. Life is like that, but I don’t get upset about it.” A Grande Família aired between 2001 and 2014.

Oliveira is not totally removed from his audience. Between April and May, the actor recorded a participation in the soap opera “Poliana Moça”, by SBT – the scenes are being shown now. He also says he has a proposal to make a movie in September, which made him excited, as he doesn’t even want to think about retiring. “This thing of staying at home in pajamas is shit. I can’t work 12 hours, but six hours I can. I want to work, I have to survive”, he says, in a conversation with the F5.

Despite having been part of Globo’s cast for more than a decade as pastry chef Beiçola, he says that, even with financial difficulties, he would not accept an invitation to return. “I don’t care about Globo”, he shoots. “I have no regrets, but if they called me I wouldn’t accept it. Even because I’m popular for them and I don’t want to be that anymore. I’m also not part of the high society aesthetic of the station.”

Soap operas are also not on Oliveira’s radar, either to watch or to do. For him, the old ones were better than the modern ones. “These now make me sick of the smell of cow dung from the ‘Pantanal’. It’s beautiful, melancholy, but it’s tiring”, he says. “We came into the world to rejoice.”

Regarding his future, the actor said that he will continue in the battle to remain active, and he hopes for a change of government in the October elections so that there is an improvement in the country. “As long as it’s not [o atual presidente Jair Bolsonaro]otherwise anyone is fine”, he concludes.
