‘I cry myself to sleep every night’, says Lorena Comparato, after revealing that she was a victim of harassment

by

Lack of work Lorena Comparato, 32, cannot complain. Actress, screenwriter and producer, she is playing the character Gláucia, from “Impuros” (Star +), while recording the second and third seasons of Cine Holliúdy. At the same time, she is looking forward to two premieres now for August: “Rensga Hits!” and It Wasn’t My Fault”. Central characters of the two plots that, coincidentally, explore themes about the female universe.

With almost twenty years of career, she has no problem working with influencers, as long as they are committed to pursuing an artistic career. in conversation with F5, she talks about this and other subjects, such as the recent revelation that she was a victim of sexual harassment. Read the interview below:

“Rensga Hits!”, a series whose theme is the universe of female country music, is about to premiere on Globo and you are Gláucia, the antagonist. Is she a classic villain?

Glaucia is human. Look at the actress who defends the character (laughs). I think antagonism only happens when you have opposite energy. So, we can say that she is the antagonist of the protagonist of the plot, Raíssa. [Alice Wegmann], but I don’t see her as a villain. Gláucia is thirsty for fame, obsessed with the internet, overprotected, but owner of a very vertical pain that is the loss of her mother. She puts up a stand that is fine, but she is very suffering. Everything she does is human.

Do you root for the public to take her side? Do you like Glaucia?

I hope (laughs). I hope people identify with Gláucia who, despite everything, is fun and authentic. The text is brilliant because it talks about human and female relationships within the sertanejo universe. But I can’t give more spoilers.

With the series, did you discover yourself as a singer?

I’ve always flirted with singing, but I’ve never really sung professionally. When they called me to audition for the character, they didn’t ask me for an acting one. I was asked to sing. I replied: ‘Of course’: I was traveling with my boyfriend and I took online classes (laughs). I chose “Medo bobo” from the repertoire of Maiara and Maraisa. I passed.

Were Maiara and Maraisa some of your inspirations for the composition of your character?

I studied both a lot. I also studied Naiara Azevedo, Paula Fernandes and, of course, Marília Mendonça. In fact, during the pandemic I started listening to Marília and enjoying her compositions, wanting to understand who that phenomenon was.

And the question of Rafa Kalimann, who is not an actress and was accused of taking the role of a professional?

Look… I have nothing but praise. He’s such a sweet, kind and studious person… I’m sure that working on the series was a really cool opportunity for Rafa, who welcomed me, supported me. I have admiration for her.

Do you, as a professional actress, not mind sharing the set with influencers?

This story of making a selection by number of followers, I completely disagree. The market and big companies need to understand that all artists, even the most famous ones, started somewhere because they also had opportunities. I am in favor of opportunities for everyone. I have no problem working with an influencer as long as they are committed, study and want to grow in the profession.

You’ve always been reserved, but you recently revealed that you’ve been sexually harassed. Why did you decide to talk about it?

I wanted people to understand that harassment is very common. Your brother or cousin or your father or even grandfather could be the aggressor, which is not that guy who walks down the street dressed as Dracula, with his mouth dripping blood. He’s everywhere. I wanted to talk to the victims, get this out. I spent a lot of time silent.

And after talking about the harassment, what has changed in your life?

I suffer the consequences because I was the one who exposed myself, the one who suffers daily is me. I’m dealing with a lot of emotions and I cry myself to sleep every night. The shock this brings to anyone is gigantic, but it’s important to speak up. It’s liberating.

You are also in a series called “It Wasn’t My Fault” that premieres now in August on Star+ that talks about femicide, harassment and abuse of all kinds…

(interrupting) We’re in a very dark time. We have the internet, we can talk about many things in a globalized world. But at the same time that you have all this energy, I feel a great repression and as I am a scholar of human relationships, I believe that the strength of this series is to show in order to reflect and denounce.
