The DIPETHE of Serresalways guaranteed, with its many years of experience and the artistic and aesthetic quality of its producers, establishes, under the chairmanship of Savvas Rizos, the artistic direction of Giorgos Andreou and the synergy of the Board of Directors of the theater, the institution “Summer of Comedy” , dedicating each year one of its summer theater productions to prominent Modern Greek writers of Comedy.
Wanting to give viewers laughter, carefree and positive mood, knowing the difficult conditions they experienced and continue to experience, for this summer he chose and proposes a project that contains all these qualities.
The reason for a rich and multifaceted production of pan-Hellenic reach, which naturally belongs to the major corresponding theatrical productions of this summer, the play “DELISTAVROU AND SON” of the great playwrights Alekos Sakellarios and Christos Giannakopoulos.
It stars and is directed by one of the most important actors of the modern Greek theater, Michalis Mitrousis, with a long and complex creative journey on stage, in cinema and on television. The distinguished and beloved actress Olga Politou co-stars. With them on stage, six exceptional actors from Serra – in alphabetical order Vangelis Zlatintsis, Giorgos Karydas, Pantelis Papadopoulos, Asterios Polychronidis, Christina Sotiriadou and Asteropi Haritidou -, known for the quality of their contribution to the theatrical events of our country and to the wider theater country landscape.
The show will tour the prefecture of Serres as well as Festivals and theater meetings in other regions of the country.
A few words about the project
After the return of his son Giorgos, who was studying in Sweden, Antonis Delistavrou, a widower for years, but still balding, entrusts him with the management of the factory, so that he can free himself and rebuild his personal life. But every time he meets an interesting woman, he always finds in front of him the same rival: his son. Like all of Sakellarios and Giannakopoulos’ comedies, this one stands out for its fast-paced dialogue, well-crafted action, and intense folk character, and highlights the comic element inherent in even the most dramatic subjects.
