Skiathos: Attempted rape of a 25-year-old woman

A 25-year-old woman reported attempted rape to its police authorities Skiathos. The 25-year-old citizen complained on Saturday night that when she retired to her room, which has been given to her by the owner of the restaurant where she works, a foreign colleague of hers, about 40 years old, broke into it, who threw her on the bed and tried to rape her.

According to the complaint, the 25-year-old did not lose her temper, pushed the 40-year-old away and ran away. She went straight to the island’s Police Department, where she reported the attempted rape. The police mobilized immediately after the victim filed a complaint and arrested the foreigner, a Bangladeshi national, who is accused of attempted rape.

The incident, according to authoritative sources, took place on the evening of last Saturday, July 23, and after the 25-year-old had retired from her work at a tavern in Skiathos, to her room, to rest. The owner of the business has given her the room, while the same has been done with the 40-year-old foreigner, who also works in the same tavern. It looks like the attacker followed the 25-year-old into her roombroke into it, grabbed her by the arms, immobilized her and threw her on the bed, apparently to have sex with her.

The 40-year-old reportedly claims he had “a little too much” to drink, but did not intend to rape the 25-year-old, however, he does not deny his act. In fact, he reportedly apologized to the girl. He was taken to the prosecutor of the Volos First Instance Service and to the investigator, where he requested and received a deadline to apologize in the following days, as the prosecution brought against him is a felony.
