We already know that Margot Robbie will play Barbie and o Ryan Gosling Ken. Both are perfect for the roles, with the pair already taking the internet by storm with the first pictures being released recently. But how exactly did the casting come about?

A guest on the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, Ryan expressed his excitement for the script, which is being written and directed by the beloved Greta Gerwig. But in addition to the email offering the role, he also had another sign that he should accept this role.
“I go out in the back yard and you know where I found Ken, Jimmy? Face down in the mud next to a twisted lemon’, so he decided to take a photo of the shocking discovery, text it to Greta and reply: ‘I’ll be your Ken, because this story needs to be told.’
Although Ryan is currently communicating his participation in the film “The Gray Man”, the actor cannot help but support Ken, since as he described, in the film he has no home and no job. “These are not plot details. This is just objective evidence for Ken. This is Ken’s life,” he said.
Production on the film has been on hold for eight years, with several changes including Amy Schumer and Anne Hathaway being discussed for the role of Barbie. The film is known to co-star America Ferrera, Simu Liu, Kate McKinnon, Ariana Greenblatt, Alexandra Shipp and Will Ferrell.
