New Hollywood movies will start shooting in early 2022, in the region of Central Macedonia, as stated the Regional Apostolos Tzitzikostas during his visit to the new film studios, Nuboyana Hellenic of the Hollywood company Millennium Media, in Thermi, Thessaloniki. He pointed out that these films, together with the new infrastructure that will be built in the studios in Thermi, within the next year, put Central Macedonia on the world map of audiovisual producers, while offering multiple benefits to the local and regional economy. to local businesses and professionals in the area.
Mr. Tzitzikostas was guided by the directors of the studios on the set of the movie “Expendables 4”. The film was shot in Thessaloniki and is directed by Scott Waugh, starring Jason Statham, Dolph Lundgren, Randy Couture and Sylvester Stalone, who repeat their roles in the new sequel of the film. The film stars Curtis “50 Sent” Jackson, Megan Fox, Andy Garcia and Tony Jaa. The actors also include Iko Uwais, Jacob Scipio and Levy Tran, while the film is expected to be released in 2022.
Mr. Tzitzikostas was welcomed on the set by the founder of Millennium Media, Avi Lerner and the producer of the company, Rob Van Norden, who managed the implementation of the production of “Consumables 4” in Greece. The Governor had the opportunity to meet with both the cast of actors and the film crew and discussed with them their experience of filming and their impressions of Thessaloniki and Central Macedonia, while a significant part of the discussion focused on services support provided to the production by the Film Office of the Region of Central Macedonia. “The Film Office of the Region of Central Macedonia, which we first established in Greece, will continue to successfully support all audiovisual productions, which are planned to be shot in Central Macedonia,” added Mr. Tzitzikostas.
