Missing model’s prosthetic leg in Spain’s body positivity campaign!

A British model was shocked after the Spanish government used her image without permission and “cut off” her prosthetic leg, the BBC reports.

The photo was used as part of a body positivity campaign launched by Spain’s Ministry of Equality. However, the 32-year-old Sian Green-Lord she stated that she only found out about the campaign when friends texted her about it.

She is the second woman to appear in the campaign and says her photos were used without permission.

On Friday, Nyome Nicholas-Williamsfrom London, told the BBC that an image from her Instagram page was used in the poster released by the Spanish Women’s Institute.

It depicts five women – including one who has undergone a mastectomy – on a beach under the slogan “summer is ours too”. Ms Green-Lord can be seen in the lower left of the image.

“I don’t even know how to explain the amount of anger I feel right now,” he said in the video. “It’s one thing to use my image without my permission and another thing to edit my body. I literally don’t know what to say, but it’s completely wrong,” Ms Green-Lord added.

The influencer and mother of one had her leg amputated after being hit by a taxi while on vacation in New York in 2013. She was walking with a friend in Manhattan when the vehicle mounted the sidewalk.

On Thursday, the creator of the campaign, Arte Mapache, apologized for using the images without permission. “Given the – justified – controversy over the rights to the images in the illustration, I have decided that the best way to make amends for any damages that may have resulted from my actions is to split the money I received for the project and give equal parts to poster people“, said the artist.

The Spanish government has yet to comment on the controversy.
