HMS Wager was a Royal Navy ship wrecked off the coast of Latin America in 1741.
The plot includes stories of surviving a brutal Patagonian winter in pursuit of Spanish treasure, mutiny and lots of men fighting each other.
The story takes place in 1742, where the eponymous ship is damaged and ‘stuck’ on an isolated South American island, “with the captain and his crew trying to survive and maintain order while battling not only adversity elements of nature, but also with their own needs”.
Scorsese’s “Killers of the Flower Moon” starring DiCaprio for Apple is based on a true story about a series of murders among the Osage Indian tribe in the 1920s when oil was discovered in the land.
Scorsese’s frequent collaborator Robbie Robertson, whose mother was indigenous, composed the music.
The movie was shot in Oklahoma.
