From Anita to Marcos Palmeiras: Celebrities declare support for Molon to the Senate

by

Celebrities declared support for the pre-candidacy of federal deputy Alessandro Molon (PSB) for the Senate, amid the controversy between PT and PSB in Rio de Janeiro. On Tuesday (2), the PT directory threatened to withdraw support for the candidacy of Marcelo Freixo (PSB) and César Maia (PSDB) for the state government.

Molon used social media to thank the public support of celebrities, such as Anitta, Marcos Palmeira, Caco Ciocler, Léo Jaime, Cissa Guimarães, Natália Lage and Elisabeth Savalla. They recorded videos supporting the candidate that were shared on Twitter.

On Tuesday (2), the candidate asked on Twitter if the singer Anitta supported his candidacy. “Launch this candidacy soon, homi”, replied the singer. “Well, I came back from the spiritual retreat thinking I already had a candidate to vote for… I’m waiting for you”, wrote Anitta in response to Molon. She also supports the presidential candidacy of Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT).

“I really think that all the work he did as a federal deputy was very important for Rio de Janeiro and we need him in the Senate to become our senator representing Rio de Janeiro,” said Savalla.

Actor Caco Ciocler said he changed his voter registration and it will be the first time he will vote in Rio de Janeiro. “I totally support Molon’s candidacy for the Federal Senate by Rio de Janeiro. In my opinion, there is no other possibility than the ones that have been presented so far.”

Cissa Guimarães recorded a video saying that Molon’s pre-candidacy has her full support. “I am very happy with the prospect of having such a good candidate that we trust so much, who can vote with complete confidence, who will give me as much pleasure in the ballot box as voting for Alessandro Molon.”

Marcos Palmeira also said that he is very happy with the prospect of having such a good candidate to vote for the Senate. “It will give me as much pleasure in the ballot box as voting for Alessandro Molon for senator from Rio de Janeiro.”
