‘The Wonder Years’ Kevin Accused of Sexually Harassing Employees

by

Actor, director and producer Fred Savage, 46, should be the best person to advise the team on the remake of “The Wonder Years.” After all, he became known as a child as Kevin Arnold, the protagonist of the original series, which originally aired between 1988 and 1993.

However, it came as a surprise that he was fired from the production in May. Now, details about what would have happened have begun to emerge. The Hollywood Reporter magazine reported that six women who worked behind the scenes of the series accuse him of moral and sexual harassment.

The cases would have escalated until they made a formal complaint to Disney, the production manager, reporting concerns about Savage’s behavior towards the women on set. In at least one case, he would have kissed an employee by force.

The woman claims that Savage went out with the team to a bar one night. At one point, she would have gone to the bathroom and, when she left, the director was waiting for her. She says that she pushed her against the wall and “forced her boa in mine”. After the incident, she managed to escape and says she ignored his apology in a text message.

Other employees say he was two-faced. “We saw two very different sides of him: the charismatic one, who seemed to encourage his peers, and a much darker, angry alter ego,” they reported. “He could transform into this last persona in an instant in a few moments.”

The women also said that the motivation for making the complaint was the strange relationship of a young woman on the team with Savage, who is married and has three children. They said they were worried after the girl moved into his home in Atlanta, where the remake was being filmed.

The girl would also receive gifts and commented that the two were discussing future plans. She declined to give her version of the report.

The ABC channel, where the series is shown, did not comment. The actor himself sent a note to the Hollywood Reporter denying that the allegations are true. “Since I was 6 years old, I’ve worked on hundreds of sets with thousands of people, and I’ve always strived to contribute to an inclusive, safe and supportive work environment,” he said.

“It’s heartbreaking to know that there are co-workers who feel I haven’t achieved these goals,” he continues. “While there are some reported incidents that absolutely did not and could not have happened, anyone who feels hurt or offended by my actions is one of many.”

“I will work to assess and change any behavior that has negatively affected someone.” “Nothing in this world is more important to me than being a co-worker, friend, husband, father and supportive person.”
