Colombian singer Shakira, 45, and Spanish footballer Gerard Piqué, 35, have started a legal battle after announcing their separation. The couple now disputes, in addition to custody of their children Milan, 9, and Sasha, 7, a plane valued at US$ 20 million, about R$ 102 million.
According to the newspaper Prensa Libre, the aircraft is a Learjet 60XR, it is medium-sized and accommodates up to 10 people. The couple renovated the plane and added a bedroom with two beds, a dining room and a plasma television.
Shakira and Barcelona star don’t want to give up the plane, which would have been bought a few years ago. In addition, the process still brings the conditions of separation, since the singer wants to move to the US and the player must remain in Spain, where the family currently lives, which makes it difficult to share custody of the children.
Recently, the Public Ministry of Spain asked for more than eight years in prison for the Colombian singer. In addition, Justice also sought compensation of more than 23 million euros (approximately R$121 million), for a case of tax fraud of 14.5 million euros, equivalent to R$75 million.
The Prosecutor’s Office attributes to the artist a tax fraud of 14.5 million euros, between the years 2012 and 2014, when she allegedly pretended not to reside in Spain. In her statement, Shakira, recently separated from Spanish player Piqué, says the case “constitutes a total affront” to her rights.
