The Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle, 40, launched her first podcast on Tuesday (23). Titled “Achertypes”, which means Archetypes, in Portuguese, the project was revealed through the official website of her husband, Prince Harry.
The podcast is available on the Spotify audio platform and already has a big name for the first interview: athlete Serena Williams, who recently announced her retirement. According to People, the project had been in development since 2020.
The project aims to “investigate the labels that try to stop women in everyday life”. The Duchess will discover the origin of these stereotypes and have uncensored conversations with women who know very well how these types shape narratives.
“This is how we talk about women: the words that create our girls and how the media reflects women back to us…but where do these stereotypes come from? And how do they keep appearing and defining our lives?” asks Markle in a preview, released in March.
“This is Archetypes – the podcast where we dissect, explore and subvert the labels that try to stop women. I’m going to talk to women who know all too well how these types shape our narratives. And I’m going to talk to historians to understand how we got here in the first place. “, she added.
