Presenter Christina Rocha, 65, spoke for the first time this Thursday (25) about the end of Casos de Família (SBT), which she led for 13 years. She thanked for the period she was ahead of the program and said that cycles close for other windows and doors to open.

Christina Rocha stated that she is willing to have new challenges and show other facets of her as a presenter. “I’m really looking forward to having new challenges, because when you spend a lot of time doing the same, you get comfortable,” said the presenter in a video posted on Instagram.

The presenter also said that she learned a lot from the program that, in addition to the memes that are the funny part, showed people’s conflicts. “This program was very important in my life,” she said.

Contrary to what many people may think, Christina revealed that she is not currently thinking about whether the program will return to the SBT schedule in 2023. “I needed this break time, I am in the mood for new challenges.”

Last Tuesday (22) SBT announced the suspension of recordings of Casos de Família, after 18 years on the air. The program, known for its participants’ shacks, will be on air until September 7 and will be replaced at the time by soap operas.

In a statement, the network said that Casos de Família “may return in 2023” with new stories. The presenter, who this year invested in a facial harmonization, remains hired by SBT. The broadcaster did not explain the reason for the suspension of the program. “I’m still hired by SBT, my contract is indefinite,” explained Christina on social media.

The attraction debuted on SBT’s programming in 2004, led by journalist Regina Volpato. In 2009, Christina took over the presentation, but was about eight months away from the show, in 2020, after the start of the coronavirus pandemic. She returned to command the attraction at the end of October, with a physical audience of 20 people, in addition to portraits that filled the auditorium.
