Cássia Kis: Video of the actress about the Catholic vigil becomes a Bolsonarist weapon; understand

Supporters of President Jair Bolsonaro (PL), who is seeking reelection, are making political use of a video that actress Cássia Kis, 64, made for Centro Dom Bosco inviting people to participate in a religious vigil on September 7. On the same date, movements are calling for pro-Bolsonaro acts on the streets.

In the video, the actress makes no mention of the federal government or Bolsonaro. She says that Catholics were the main men and women who built Brazil and that today the country is in a period that requires much prayer from each one. Then, the actress invites everyone to make a vigil, starting at 4 am on the Dom Bosco Center channel, to pray.

“We will pray the Holy Rosary so that Our Lady of Conceição Aparecida, queen, patron saint of Brazil, once again takes the reins of our history. And frees us from the evils that threaten Brazil”, said Cássia in the video.

Sought by Folha, the actress says she did not authorize the political use of the video.

Candidate for federal deputy for São Paulo, former Secretary of Culture Mário Frias (PL) shared the video of the actress on Instagram and also took the opportunity to make electoral propaganda including his numerical identification to be voted in these elections. He deleted the video from the social network at the request of the actress.

Federal deputy Eduardo Bolsonaro (PL) also shared the same video, but did not include his numerical identification. In the video’s caption, he wrote that a people without memory are easy prey for a liar. “Cássia Kis, in addition to rescuing the essential role of Catholics in the formation of the West, still has a special invitation for you on September 7 along with the Dom Bosco Center”, wrote Eduardo Bolsonaro.
