Sonia Abrão, 59, is admitted to a hospital in São Paulo. The presenter of A Tarde É Sua (RedeTV!), who was recently removed from the show for having contracted Covid-19, revealed that, this time, she has bacterial pneumonia.
“What happened was this: my pulmonologist believes I contracted the bacteria along with Covid”, he reported on social media. “As I was medicated with antibiotics in Covid, the pneumonia did not develop, so much so that I had a CT scan of the chest and the lungs were very clean. As I had zero Covid in a week, the medication was suspended and then the pneumonia had free ground to attack, I lost the voice and then came the very strong cough!”
Abram, who published a photo with his brother, director Elias Abrão, said that the disease was detected at an early stage. “Thank God, it’s still in the beginning, I could treat it at home – as it was with Covid -, but as high doses of corticosteroids are necessary, which cause me to have arrhythmia crises, I need to stay in the hospital to be monitored and prevent this from happening. !”
She promised to update fans on her health status. She also stressed the importance of some measures to avoid contamination by diseases like the one she contracted. “Just don’t forget that we are still in the season for viruses and bacteria that cause respiratory diseases, which go beyond Covid,” she warned.
