She said: “I played the Duchess of Windsor from the time of the Duke’s death until the end of her life. It’s an amazing story.”

Although she is approaching 90, Joan Collins is still active on the sets and even with a full schedule.

The villainous “Alexis” of Dynasty, the hit soap opera of the 80s that kept millions glued to their sofas to watch her machinations, is now preparing for her new role: she will play Wallis Simpson, the woman who more or less made the British throne when the Duke of Windsor, Edward, fell in love with her.

The title of the new project, which has not been specified whether it will be a movie or a series, is called “In Bed With the Duchess”.

She said: “I played the Duchess of Windsor from the time of the Duke’s death until the end of her life. It’s an amazing story.”

In a recent interview with Saga Magazine, Joan Collins she also referred to her age, saying that “it’s terribly rude for people to talk about my age, instead of focusing on my energy, how I look and how I act.”

“My mother’s generation never did that. But, you know, people have been calling me old since I was 38,” he said.

As for her breakout role, Alexis Carrington, the actress commented: “I think it’s incredibly ridiculous that strong women are portrayed as dangerous when in my experience it’s aggressive men who are the real threat.”
