The twins Mel and Bento were born to the winner of the MasterChef Brasil 2021 (Band) champion, actress Isabella Scherer, 26, and photographer Rodrigo Calazans. Family members followed the birth that took place in a maternity hospital in São Paulo, this Monday (29).

Isabella’s father, Olympic swimming medalist Fernand Scherer, 47, Xuxa, posted a video on Instagram stories talking about the happiness of being a grandfather. “The youngest grandpa in Brazil. He is the most drooling”, said Xuxa while still in the hospital.

In another video, the former swimmer said that he is not able to respond to so many messages of affection and love for the birth of his grandchildren, but that he is reading them all. “I stop by to thank you already for all the messages from Whatsapp and Instagram”, he said. “We are all very happy and they are healthy, that’s what matters.”

Days before the birth of the twins, the actress collapsed on her Instagram profile that she was having trouble eating and sleeping in the final stretch of her pregnancy. She said that she really wanted to eat, but she couldn’t satisfy her hunger, she was full right away and nauseated. She was also very sleepy and could not sleep.

Isabell joked that Bento is a “giant baby” while Mel is “normal”. On August 21, she shared with her followers the frequency of contractions she is already experiencing on the eve of childbirth. “I spent the whole night awake counting contractions … It was every 10 minutes … Some sore … But it passed. Then, I slept until late later,” she wrote.

In mid-June, the reality cooking champion said she initially discovered her pregnancy on a trip to New York earlier this year, after feeling nauseous for a few days and taking four pregnancy tests. She and the babies’ father have been together for just over a year.
