Neil Jordan’s noir Marlowe, starring Liam Neeson and Diane Kruger, will have its world premiere at the San Sebastian Film Festival on September 24. It will be the film that closes the festival and stars Neeson and Kruger will be there along with the director, according to Varierty.
Based on the novel “The Black-Eyed Blonde” by John Banville, it is set in Los Angeles in the 1930s, where private detective Philip Marlowe (Neeson) takes it upon himself to find the missing ex-lover of a beautiful heiress. The character of Marlowe was originally created by the American author Raymond Chandler almost a century ago.
The 70th San Sebastián Film Festival will be held from September 16 to 24. The film “Modelo 77” by the Spanish director Alberto RodrÃguez, with Miguel Eran and Javier Gutiérrez will open the festival.
