Camille Vasquez, Johnny Depp’s lawyer, defends actress accused of fraud

Camille Vasquez, a lawyer for Johnny Depp, is defending another Hollywood star in court. This time, she represents the German actress and singer Q’orianka Kilcher, 32, known for the series “Yellowstone”, who was accused of insurance fraud.

Kilcher was accused in July of wrongfully receiving about $90,000 in temporary disability benefits while working, according to TMZ.

The German actress reported that she suffered a neck injury while filming the movie “Dora and the Lost City of Gold” in 2018. Between 2019 and 2020, she received temporary disability benefit, but the California Department of Insurance accuses the actress to have worked on “Yellowstone” in the months that would be unavailable.

A source close to Kilcher tells TMZ she has done nothing wrong. According to her, the accident left the actress very confused and 10% disabled for the rest of her life.

Camila and attorney Steve Cook, who also represented Depp in the defamation lawsuit against ex-wife Amber Heard, say their client is innocent and they plan to vigorously defend Kilcher. The two will appear before the judge in Los Angeles on Wednesday (7).

“We are determined to defend Ms. Kilcher in this important case that examines the inherent flaws in the disability compensation system. Ms. Kilcher is a highly respected actress and pioneer in Hollywood and we intend to clarify her name,” the lawyers said in a statement. .
