Cauã Reymond, 42, caught the attention of netizens with an advertisement published on his social networks. The actor, who plays Dom Pedro 1º in the recent “A Viagem de Pedro”, used an unusual historical reference to advertise a yogurt with probiotics.
“Did you know that Dom Pedro 1st almost failed to declare the Independence of Brazil because of a stomachache?”, he wrote in the caption of a video posted on his Instagram account. “That’s right! If Activia had already existed at that time, everything would have been smoother.”
The publication makes reference to a historical anecdote widely disseminated among historians. That Dom Pedro would have had diarrhea before the Grito do Ipiranga, a landmark of the Independence of Brazil, which celebrated its 200th anniversary on the 7th of September.
“Playing Dom Pedro 1º in my new film made me know some curiosities about his history”, says Cauã in the video. “And history shows that the moments that preceded the Grito do Ipiranga, at first, were very difficult.”
He then reports the case. “The emperor had to stop numerous times during the trip from Santos to São Paulo, all because of a stomachache that insisted on not getting better”, he says. “There were times when he thought he couldn’t make it.”
In the sequence, the actor still says that in the many messages he received on Independence Day because of the role played in the film, no one mentioned the subject. “So here’s the tip, because if Activia had already existed since that time, surely Dom Pedro would have already included it in his routine and he wouldn’t have passed this perrengue”, kicked the actor.
