Singer Britney Spears, 40, said she did not intend to criticize the “beautiful body” of Christina Aguilera, 41, in an Instagram post on Tuesday (13). She acknowledged that her comments posted a day earlier on the social network were a “projection of the insecurities” she deals with all the time as a result of how my parents and the media treated her.
Spears said she had flown to see Aguilera’s concert once and the main difference she noticed was the people on stage and that she was inspired by her show. “By no means am I criticizing Christina’s beautiful body, is what it is,” Spears wrote alongside an illustration of two fairies.
The pop diva stated that she would never intentionally embarrass someone because she knows what it’s like to feel insecure and to see people feeding their insecurities on purpose, not letting her have choices in the people on stage with her. “I struggle with this because of how I feel about myself, not because I hate the way someone looks… I feel like my family knew I was insecure.”
The confusion between the singers began after Spears declared on Monday (12) that she discovered that there is only one way to look thin: dating fat people. She added by saying that Aguilera does this with her dancers. “They don’t think my confidence would have been better if I could choose where I lived, ate, who I called on the phone, who I dated and who was on stage with me,” Spears wrote.
EW confirmed with a source that Aguilera that she unfollowed Spears shortly after she made the social media post about her body.
