Chopin’s heart “beat” at Herodius

The event was held at the initiative of the Hellenic Foundation of Cardiology, under the auspices of the Region of Attica, the Medical Association of Athens, the Holy Archdiocese of Athens, the Professional Chamber of Athens, the Embassy of the Polish Republic in Athens and the Hellenic-Polish Chamber.

Thousands of citizens, mainly from the Health sector, enjoyed a unique concert last night in Herodio held on the occasion of World Heart Day entitled: “Chopin’s heart will beat in Herodio”, dedicated to Professor Pavlos K. Toutouza.

The event was held at the initiative of the Hellenic Foundation of Cardiology, under the auspices of the Region of Attica, the Medical Association of Athens, the Holy Archdiocese of Athens, the Professional Chamber of Athens, the Embassy of the Polish Republic in Athens and the Hellenic-Polish Chamber.

The concert was accompanied by the National Symphony Orchestra of the Warsaw Opera with the Greek pianist Tatiana Papageorgiou, a close collaborator of Mikis Theodorakis for a number of years. Chopin was embodied by the popular actor Dimitris Lalos. In addition to the regional governor, the Minister of Labor and Social Affairs, K. Hatzidakis, the deputy regional governor of Health, G. Kehris, Transport, V. Giannakopoulos, the president of the Athens Chamber of Commerce, G. Hatzitheodosiou and others attended the event.

On the occasion of the event, the governor of Attica and president of ISA, G. Patoulis, expressed his satisfaction for the evening, in which science met culture, for a sacred purpose, and on the occasion of World Heart Day, he wished the citizens of our country to realize how necessary and important it is to take care of our heart and our health in general. Finally, he referred to a series of actions implemented by the Region, the ISA and the EDDYPYY and are related to syphilis control and prevention in 20 thematic fields.
