Actor Mark Ruffalo, 54, is the latest international name to support Lula in Brazil’s presidential elections. On social media, the artist published the link to the candidate’s live, held this Monday (26), and asked his followers to watch “the words of many brave Brazilian defenders of democracy and the planet”.

“Today, I humbly add my voice to raise awareness of the global consequences of the Brazilian election. You can watch my message and, more importantly, the words of many brave Brazilian defenders of democracy and the planet in today’s live stream. Lula will speak shortly. !”, wrote the actor who also had a video shown at the event in which he spoke about the preservation of the Amazon.

Ruffalo was always attentive to what was happening politically in Brazil. In June, he posted on Twitter a photo of a truck with the image of President Jair Bolsonaro (PL) and the message asking “not to trust Bolsonaro”. In the publication, he marked the president of the United States, Joe Biden, who would meet with the Brazilian.

“Dear President Joe Biden, the man you are meeting today has no respect for democracy and consistently threatens a coup. [na Cúpula das Américas] start remember to side with democracy,” the actor wrote at the time.

The next day, Bolsonaro mocked him: “Dear Mark Ruffles [ironia com nome dele], calm! I’m sure you’ve never read the Brazilian Constitution, but I can assure you it’s nothing like the complicated Hulk scripts you have to memorize: ‘AHGFRR’. Read on and you will find that I am not only respecting, but protecting, the rule of law in Brazil,” the president posted.
