Coolio and Stevie Wonder sing ‘Gangsta’s Paradise’ together

On Twitter, thousands of users trended the name of Coolio – who died today aged 59 – while someone uploaded a video from the 1995 Billboard Awards.

The world music community was saddened by his news death of Cooliothe American rapper who became world famous in 1995 when he recorded Gangsta’s Paradise, which was also released as a soundtrack to the film Dangerous Minds starring Michelle Pfeiffer.

On Twitter, thousands of users made Coolio’s name trend while someone uploaded a video from the 1995 Billboard Awards, where the rapper performs his smash hit on stage with the legendary Stevie Wonder and fellow rapper LV

For Gangsta’s Paradise Coolio won a Grammy for Best Rap Solo Performance while the song features excerpts from Stevie Wonder’s 1976 song Pastime Paradise.
