The brand name “Nestochoria” they try to promote local professionals, with the aim of attracting more visitors and boosting tourism in the villages of Nestos.
As Gavriil Gavriiloglou, owner of a hotel unit in Paranesti of Drama“we want to identify and build a name in the area, taking as an example Pomakochoria, Zagorochoria, Mastichochoria and promoting our own villages – about 20 habitable – which are located on the right and left of the river Nestos”.
In a move to promote their effort, the entrepreneurs involved printed the name “Nestohoria” in glasses used in an environmental conference organized in Paranesti by the organization “Kallisto”, inviting for more information on their Facebook page.
“We seek to highlight the identity of the region and not of each entrepreneur involved in the effort. That is why we promote non-exchangeable products, such asthe forest of Fraktos, unknown to many or the Straits of Nestos, the most beautiful part of the river which is also called Thracian Tempi” says Mr. Gavriiloglou.
In this direction, efforts are being made to involve even more businessmen in the “Nestohoria” initiative to highlight the natural beauty and cultural elements of the area in order to become its “trademark” and become an important attraction.
