Fernanda Paes Leme reveals miscarriage: ‘I saw there that I wanted to be a mother’

In late 2021, after actress and presenter Fernanda Paes Leme, 39, had an IUD removed, she discovered that she was pregnant with her fiancé Victor Sampaio. However, a short time later she lost the baby in a miscarriage. The revelation was made by her on the podcast Mil e Uma Tretas.

“I was in shock and very happy. I told Victor that he was even happier. The next day I returned to São Paulo. Five days later I had a bleed and discovered that I had lost it”, he said. According to her, her period had been delayed, but she imagined it was because of the contraceptive method withdrawn. A drug test revealed the pregnancy.

With the episode, the actress says that it was difficult to deal with the “invisible grief” despite never having had the desire to be a mother. “The first person to find out is you. You have to manage your pain and the pain of the other. Everyone tells you: ‘it’s normal’. No, normal can’t be. It can be common. People try to ease your pain , but all you want is a hug.
