A frequent visitor to the Festival do Rio, Débora Bloch, 59, chose an all-red outfit to wear at the event’s presentation party on Thursday night (6). The actress, who plays the character Deodora in “Mar do Sertão”, joked when asked if the use of color was a direct declaration to her vote in the second round for the candidate Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT), in the elections for the presidency of the Republic. “I like red. Even because the vote is secret”, the actress commented, laughing.
Débora assumed that she is worried about the attacks that the artistic class receives from the Bolsonaro government and criticized the posture of her professional colleague, Regina Duarte. “It’s surprising to see an actress like her take a stand in favor of this government. An artist with her background taking such a stand against art, culture and class itself, it’s complicated,” began Débora.
She also stressed that she was never close to Bolsonaro’s former Secretary of Culture and that for years she was called “Brazil’s Little Girlfriend”. “I don’t know her well, nor do I see her social networks, but we find out about things. “There’s no way to be surprised by Regina Duarte’s attitudes”, acknowledged Débora.
The actress also commented on her desire for a return to the Ministry of Culture before thinking about new public policies for the area. “Brazil’s culture is completely abandoned and it is essential that we have a Ministry of Culture in the next government. It is urgent and after that, we can think about projects and public policies”, she concluded.
