OR Hamas denied his announcement today US State Departmentin which it cited “reliable information” indicating an imminent violation by the Palestinian Islamist movement of the ceasefire agreement with Israel.

Hamas said these claims are false, noting that they “fully align with misleading Israeli propaganda and provide cover for the continuation of the occupation’s crimes and organized aggression against our people.”

The State Department said on Saturday that it had “credible information indicating an imminent ceasefire violation by Hamas against the people of Gaza”, stressing that doing so would constitute “a direct and serious violation of the ceasefire agreement”.

“This planned attack on Palestinian civilians would be a direct and serious violation of the agreed ceasefire, undermining the significant progress that has been made through mediation efforts,” the State Department statement said.

“Should Hamas launch this attack, measures will be taken to protect the people of Gaza and maintain the integrity of the ceasefire,” the statement said.

The first phase of the ceasefire agreement between Hamas and Israel is underway. All living hostages have been released and the bodies are still being returned to Israel.

As part of the deal, Israel released 250 Palestinian prisoners in its prisons and 1,718 prisoners from Gaza.
