A new book reveals that Mick Jagger is not just the well-known legendary lover of the so-called “weaker sex”.
The 79-year-old Mick Jagger is known as one of rock ‘n’ roll’s most amorous—and unfaithful—stars, and has had relationships with some of the world’s most desirable women, including TJerry Hall, Marianne Faithful, Anita Pallenberg and Marcia Hunt.
However, a new book reveals that Mick Jagger is not just the well-known legendary lover of the so-called “weaker sex”. She also had affairs with more men than is widely believed … including two members of his own band.
Author Leslie Ann Jones argues in her new book The Stone Age that it is time for Jagger to be reassessed as “the iconic figure of bisexuality”, citing that he had a relationship with Keith Richards in the early days of the band, as well as with the guitarist Mick Taylor, who was a member of the Stones from 1969 to 1974.
Both men are featured in a lengthy appendix to the book, detailing the Stones’ stormy relationship over the years. Jagger’s long-rumored relationship with David Bowie is mentioned (singer Ava Cherry has said she had sex with Jagger and Bowie). As did an alleged affair with Austrian actor Helmut Berger — the man who introduced him to his first wife Bianca.
In her newly published book, Jones cites interviews with both Anita Pallenberg and Marian Faithful, in which they note that Jagger and Richards were clearly attracted to each other. Pallenberg, who died in 2017, said: “From the first time I met them, I saw that Mick was in love with Keith.” For her part, Faithful reportedly commented: “I had the impression that there was a sexual undercurrent between them. Some part of my mind knew that Mick was bisexual.”
Rumors of a relationship between Jagger and Taylor have been rife for some time. In Christopher Andersen’s book Mick it is mentioned that “the two Micks were caught sleeping in bed together”.
In 1995, Jagger said in an interview: “Mick [Τέιλορ] it accompanied my vocals fluidly. He was fascinating and very handsome […]. Some people think this is the best version of the band ever.’
