The famous actor will be rocketed to the International Space Station and will be the first civilian to do a spacewalk outside the ISS.
It is well known that Tom Cruise does not want to be dubbed by stuntmen and shoots all the dangerous scenes in his films himself.
Everyone thought that his flights in the latest ‘Top Gun: Maverick’ would be his biggest… craziness, but they fell out. Tom Cruise is taking it further – actually ending it – by taking a real spacewalk for the role of his new movie.
As reported by foreign publications and the NY Post, the famous actor and the director, Doug Liman, are preparing a film that includes filming in space. The two have been in contact with Universal to talk about the rocket that will carry Cruise to the International Space Station while before the pandemic, in May 2020, NASA had confirmed that it was in discussions with Cruise and SpaceX about some film project.
According to Universal Filmed Entertainment Group president Donna Langley, “the plan is to go on a rocket to the International Space Station and be the first civilian to spacewalk outside the ISS”!

Donna Langley, Universal Boss, on the upcoming Space Project with #TomCruise:
“He’s taking us to space, he’s taking the world to space. The plan is, that he’s taking a rocket up to the Space Station and to be the first civilian to do a spacewalk outside of the Space Station.. pic.twitter.com/5sIiL2A8gp— Tom Cruise News (@TCNews62) October 5, 2022
The script predicts that most of the film will be shot on earth, but in the end “the hero ascends into space to save the planet.”

The film was first filed in 2020, before the Covid-19 pandemic halted Cruise’s… space plans (which translates to “rocket”. Coincidence?)
