The star of the first three “Mummy” movies didn’t have the best opinion about Cruise’s movie…

THE Brendan Fraser finally revealed his take on the “reboot” of the Mummy film franchise starring Tom Cruise, which failed at the box office with a debut of just $32.2 million. The star of the first three “Mummy” movies didn’t have the best opinion about Cruise’s movie…

“It’s hard to make this movie,” Fraser admitted to Variety in an interview with The Whale director Darren Aronofsky. “The ingredient we had for our ‘Mummy,’ which I didn’t see in that movie, was that it was fun. That was what was missing in this ‘incarnation’. It was too much of a horror movie.”

The film, Fraser explained, “should be an exciting, but not scary.”

The American actor also said he would be open to reprising his role as the adventurer in a fourth film “if someone had the right idea”.
