Actress Bridget Moynahan, Tom Brady’s ex-girlfriend and who shares her son Jack, 15, with the NFL player, shared a quote from Vienna Pharaon on Instagram about the breakup. The message was posted amid rumors of divorce between the player and model Gisele Bündchen.
She wrote that people are comfortable with happily-ever-after stories because sometimes that’s not reality. “Not everything is to be fixed. Not all relationships are meant to last a lifetime,” reads the quote.
Moynahan also wrote in the caption of the post that the relationship that doesn’t work teaches and brings teachings about itself. “Sometimes we have to learn to be comfortable with the gifts that are offered through breakups and endings rather than the stories of repair and reconciliation.”
Brady and Moynahan dated between 2004 and 2006 and, contrary to rumors at the time, he didn’t intentionally leave the actress when she was pregnant with their first child. He found out about Moynahan’s pregnancy three months after the two split and about two and a half months since he and Gisele started dating.
Gisele said in interviews that she fell in love with her stepson and that he made her rethink her decision to have children, so that the boy would have siblings who were close to his age. “I call him my bonus son,” she said at the time.
